San Marcos Black History (J.D. Toliver)

 

Learn something new about the rich history of blacks in San Marcos. This video, produced by the City of San Marcos, includes narrational footage of Dr. Elvin Holt, who serves on the Calaboose AAHM board of directors and is the museum’s archivist.

The Calaboose African American History Museum is pleased to share its activities/programming and events, African American history, and other items of interest with its constituents through its newsletters, Calaboose News and Calaboose E-News Updates. The Calaboose Wins Best of Hays for Best Museum

 

The Calaboose AAHM Board is absolutely THRILLED to announce that the Calaboose African American History Museum has been named "1st Place Winner and Best of Hays” for the Best Museum category by Hays County Texas citizens!! TWO YEARS IN A ROW!! More than 63,000 votes are counted in this “BEST OF” round, and Hays’ amazing community members chose THE CALABOOSE AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY MUSEUM!! The CAAHM Board appreciates your support so much - humbly yours in service, always!!
