2nd Annual National African American Read

Come celebrate Black History Month at the 2nd annual National African American Read In with Calaboose African American History Museum!

This is a free event. We have plenty of books for children and adults to read. This read in is a part of the National Council of Teachers of English annual read, established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English. 

Join thousands of readers across the USA as we celebrate and learn from Black History Month 2024!

At 1:00 pm, the five student winners of the Black History Essay contest will read their winning essays on their favorite black author. Help us support these young readers and writers.
